Work with Sally to revamp everyone, from little old ladies to punk rockers to impatient celebrities, in five unique salon locations. Wash, dye, cut, style and more in 50 levels of fashionable fun. Use your earnings to hire helpful employees and purchase salon upgrades to keep your clients looking and feeling their best. Only the stylist with the happiest (and best-looking!) customers will make the cut in this fashionably fun game for your iPhone or iPod Touch. Five unique locations with 10 levels each: The Mall, Ski Resort, The Ritz, Ocean Pier and Star Studios. Two game modes and 9 unique customer types guarantee endless fun. The goal is to make your clients look fabulous quickly, so they don’t get angry and storm out. By tapping on the touch screen, you move customers, who walk in one by one, from station to station. Leave them sitting anywhere too long - in the waiting area, in the barber’s chair, at the cash register - and they’ll head straight for the door, taking their money with them. Earn enough cash though, and you’ll not only pass the level, but get a chance to buy items to upgrade your salon. This game’s survival mode is a real challenge for all the true lovers of the genre. Here the players are challenged to satisfy an increasing number of customers, running back and forth between them until one walks out to end the round. This mode provides much more of an immediate challenge. And since Sally’s Salon has a statistics screen, there’s plenty of incentive to play again and again, beating old scores. All that being said, all that is left for you to do is to download this game and check it out yourself.

Sally’s Spa

sallys-spa1

Gameplay for Sally’s Spa is very similar to Diner Dash. So it really isn’t anything new. The basis of the game is that you run a salon, and you have different stations, such as a sauna, nail station, spa, massage table, and hair station. You have customers that come in to get certain treatments. Your goal is to get all your customers through their treatments and out the door with a smile on their face and a huge tip for you. But this can be much more challenging than you may originally think. You start out running a little salon on the west coast. The customers are patient and there aren’t too many station to worry about and run. But after that initial location, you begin to pick up in speed and difficulty. There are 5 levels to a location, and over 10 locations in different spots in the world that you play. Each location introduces new customer types and new stations to manage. In order to make it somewhat easier there are a lot of upgrades. These upgrades you could make to the stations and equipment in the salon really gave the game an added layer of depth. You had to choose wisely in order to maximize your spending in a way that would benefit you most during the rush out at the salon. You could also purchase employees to man some of the stations in the salon. This greatly alleviates some of the stress of managing customers, as some are taken care of without your participation, and that helps move the line right along. Overall, Sally’s Spa is a great game that kept my interest the entire way through. The upgrades and merchandise helped add depth to a game that would otherwise be very basic. Though not without its flaws, it is a game I would recommend to a wide audience.

iBlast Moki

iblast-moki1

Warning! iBlast Moki is highly fun and addicting game that is going to take a lot of time from your hands. The goal in iBlast Moki is to rescue the cute little Mokis by moving them into a portal. To do this, you use all sorts of objects. In the earlier levels, that means bombs, which you employ to blast the Mokis toward the portal. When you place a bomb near a Moki, you can see the projected path they will take; you can even set a time delay on the explosion. As you progress and unlock later levels, new tools become available—ropes, bars, screws, balloons, and wheels. Balloons float upward, bars can be used to make bridges, screws hold bars in place, wheels turn, and ropes can be attached to objects. Each level presents you with unique landscapes and obstacles requiring a well thought-out plan and good timing. The higher the level, the more difficult the puzzle. The touch controls allow the game to have a more intuitive flow and work perfectly. To place an object, you just drag-and-drop it into place. When attaching a rope to objects or moving the end of a bar, a magnified circle pops up so that it’s easy to place them just right. Once you get things set up, you tap the bomb button and see how it plays out. As if 70 levels weren’t enough, there’s a fully featured level editor so you can create your own custom levels. You can even play and rate levels created by other users as well as check how you rank on global leaderboards. Which means that there is no room for boredom even after you have finished the regular levels. Honeslty, do I need to say more? Start downloading. NOW!

Peggle

peggle1

If I say that all you have to do in this game is to shoot a ball out of a cannon towards a series of pegs that as are grouped in a variety of manners; there are several different colors that the pegs can be, the most important color being orange andour mission; you have 10 balls to shoot and try to eliminate all orange pegs, it would sound incredibly, amazingly and utterly boring. But do not jump to any conclusions when it comes to this game, and trust me when I say that there is nothign boring about this game, there is only fun, fun, and some more fun. The reasons for a game like this being fun must be unique and different.  After all, my poorly worded description doesn’t really sound like it would be a barrel full of monkeys, but it is.  The developer is PopCap Games, that’s right; THE PopCap Games, the developers of Plants vs. Zombies, I know I have your attention now, so please continue reading this review.  Other than the humor, that is so well known for Pop Cap games, you’ll also see great graphics and a fantastic use of sound throughout the game.  None of those things are the key to this game’s success though.  The game is very successful because the pegs that aren’t colored orange all have special attributes and using those magic pegs in a variety of different ways in a real treat. The game is surrounded with incredibly cute animals that take you through how to play each type of level.  And you really have a tremendous amount of replay value within the game.  Each level has several stages.  And each level allows you to win in a variety of different ways and strategies.  When you shoot the ball out of the cannon, the physics engine takes over.  The ball you shoot can bounce like crazy and depending upon which angle you use to shoot it, you will have a drastically different result.  Even if you run out of balls and don’t hit all of the orange pegs (thus losing), replaying the stage is a lot of fun.  That is a characteristic of only great games. If you still are not convinced then download the game and see for yourself. And if you are convinced then download this game and kiss your free time goodbye.

Space Bikers

space-bikers1

Space Bikers is played based on a 3D platform, you ride long side with the miniature aliens to help them navigate over obstacles and these range from books, bookshelves to boxes of cereals. The aim is to collect a variety of stuff, as much as possible. The game consists of three gameplay modes, play, quick race and mini-games. Of course, you will need to complete the play mode before the other modes will unlock. In the game, the player will spend their time trying to navigate the 3 different bikers to find food and pieces to rebuild their unfortunately broken ship. The player uses the buttons to drive and tilt the character’s bike and attempt to run over the different pieces found across the various levels. Space Bikers is said to use an advanced physics engine to maneuver your bike through the detailed levels you encounter along the way. Fans of the game app Jellycar will find this game interesting, because Chillingo has incorporated this advanced physics aspect of game into Space Bikers. although I must say I would have liked it to be a tiny bit more responsive. The riders bounce around, slide and fold up like rag dolls when they fall and their vehicles are the same. You can control your speed to vary the vehicle’s trajectory over jumps and the angle at which it lands. If you land with the nose down, then you will do a face plant. In contrast, land with the nose up and your vehicle will fall back on top of you. As I have mentioned already, Space Bikers has buttons to control the vehicle’s direction, speed, braking and pitch as you navigate up and over obstacles. You also have the option of using the accelerometer to control the vehicle’s pitch instead of buttons, but I am the kind of person who never manages to use the accelerometer well enough for gameplay so I stuck with buttons. One very innovative idea from Space Bikers is that you can move the buttons around to different parts of the screen so that they can be placed wherever you want which is always good if you have fat fingers like me and want them to be more customised to your own needs. It will be an excellent addition to your iPhone / iPod Touch games collection for kids however adults may find it less interesting and to the least of your expectations.

The Wars

the-wars1

This game is one of those games that can keep you addicted for days and days. Like at any tower defense game the goal here is to take out your enemy’s base.  That seems quite simple, but the reality is that your enemy is stronger, has more money and has greater weapons, hence the difficulty of this game. You begin the game with 150 gold pieces, no experience, and very low tech cavemen. Your base is positioned on the left side of the screen. To get warriors, you must buy them with your gold. You must earn your money by killing enemy warriors.  But every now and then your enemy will cause you a total ruin, and when that happens you can use your special weapon, which has an attack powerful enough to devastate your enemies. The graphics in this game are great and the game play is smooth. There are 3 levels of difficulty.  Each is fun to play and play again. And for less than a dollar, this game is an absolute must have for you and your friends.
