Since its appearance FedEx has become a major part of the business world. So its only natural that the iPhone apps team has developed a FedEx Mobile for iPhone application, that can really come in handy to all those that are interested about it. FedEx Mobile is an app designed to provide shipment tracking information and find out the status of shipments while on-the-go. This app is great for anyone who is a FedEx customer that ships packages on a regular basis. When opening this app, I was instructed to accept a user agreement and log-in to my FedEx account. Users do need a FedEx account in order to use this application. I did find that it was time-consuming to create a new FedEx account just to watch and track packages. It did take me more than a few times to log-in to the app because of a ‘Log-In Error’, but when I moved past that I was greeted with a screen listing all the open shipments I had. At the bottom of the screen were features such as the Watch List, Exceptions, Adding Shipments and More. Along with those features, users could take advantage of additional FedEx mobile applications such as preparing shipments, get rates, find locations of FedEx centers and sending feedback, all of which open in Safari. The interface of this app was standard and focused on the essentials for shipping packages quickly. One of the best features was the ability to see when your packages would arrive and if there was a shipping exception, which could explain why a package won’t show up on time. We all know that nothing is perfect, not even this app, but I truly believe that these minor set backs will be ironed out in the future.
