We all grew up with the cute and lovable character of Sesame street. And we all want to pass that experience to our children. Bit it seems to be more and more difficult as the technology progresses, so that is why we are presenting to your Elmo’s Monster Maker, an iPhone app that allows you, or your child to use some imagination and create a monster that can later dance for you, or interact with Elmo. As a kid I had a huge crush on Elmo, he was fun, interesting inteligent and could always make me laugh, and having him on my iPhone can really make my day when I’m down on my luck. As soon as you start this app you are warmly greeted by Elmo, who offers you the chance to create your very own monster. Once you make your selection you’re greeted to a close-up of your monster waiting for you to give it it’s features. You can add eyes, a nose and a hat (although the hat option isn’t highlighted for some reason). Once you select your features there’s a little play button that takes you to a screen with more options. You can take a snapshot of it, have Elmo interact with it, or have it dance for you. There are five monsters to choose from and four possible dancing locations. That’s pretty much the extent of the app. he app uses sound effects, music and space to interact with you and reacts to your options. Not in the way a game does, but in a way that’s more intuitive and natural. It doesn’t trivialize anything, it is honest, real and it does what Sesame Street’s been doing since it’s inception in 1969. It is nice to pass something to our children that has been there for generations, that it’s both entertaining and educational and can really make them laugh and simply enjoy. Even though some parents might consider the price a little bit too much for and app like this, but then again, you cant realy put a price on your child’s happy face. So if you have a couple of extra bucks lying around do not hesitate to download this app.
